Ava DuVernay Explores the 14th Amendment in New Documentary
Filmmaker Ava DuVernay has returned to documentary features with her latest Netflix film, '14th,' which focuses on the 14th Amendment and its vital role in American democracy. Arriving ahead of the midterm elections, the documentary examines how foundational constitutional principles have come under unprecedented pressure. Featuring interviews with notable political figures, legal scholars, and commentators, the film explores the history and contemporary implications of birthright citizenship, due process, and equal protection. It serves as a spiritual successor to her acclaimed 2016 documentary '13th.'
