Quantum computers take a step closer to error correction
Researchers from Rutgers University, IBM, and collaborating institutions have demonstrated a significant advancement in quantum computing stability. The team showed that a quantum system can monitor its internal state and respond dynamically while running. By repeatedly resetting parts of the system, the researchers were able to bring chaotic behavior under control. This development brings the field one step closer to building practical quantum computers capable of correcting their own mistakes.
