Indonesians share footage of orange haze blanketing towns
A thick, apocalyptic orange smog has descended upon the Indonesian city of Palangka Raya as severe wildfires rage across the region. Residents have captured striking video footage of the dense haze washing over towns in Kalimantan, describing an eerie atmosphere with nowhere to escape the toxic air. Data from the national environment ministry revealed that the ISPU air pollution index surpassed 1,200, which is four times higher than the official hazardous threshold of 300. The worsening environmental crisis is heavily impacting millions of people across Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
