Planetary Systems Reveal Two Distinct Families Tied to Host Stars
An international team led by INAF has analyzed 300 well-characterized planetary systems. They discovered that these systems fall into two distinct families based on their architecture. This classification suggests that the formation and evolution of planetary systems are deeply linked to the properties of their host stars. The findings provide a new framework for understanding the diversity of exoplanetary systems.
