Major tech platforms refuse to clarify US execution livestream stance
Major technology companies including YouTube, Meta, Twitch, and X have declined to state whether they would permit the United States government to livestream an execution on their platforms. The silence follows remarks from an unnamed Pentagon official regarding the potential execution of Nidal Hasan, who was convicted of a 2009 mass shooting at a Texas military base. The situation highlights growing policy dilemmas for tech giants regarding government transparency and violent content moderation.
