Type One Energy Raises $200M to Build Fusion Plant by 2034
Type One Energy has secured $200 million in a Series B funding round to advance its commercial fusion power plant ambitions. The Knoxville-based startup aims to bring a 400-megawatt plant online by 2034 using significantly less capital than many of its industry competitors. The company achieves cost efficiency by adopting an integrator business model. Instead of manufacturing components in-house, Type One designs the reactors and partners with specialized external suppliers and engineering firms.
