Fort Hood Attacker's Firing Squad Execution to Be Livestreamed
The Pentagon has announced that the upcoming execution of former US Army major Nidal Hasan by a firing squad will be publicly livestreamed. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the move aims to demonstrate serious consequences for such crimes. Legal experts have described the decision as unprecedented in the modern era and operating on uncertain legal terrain. This marks a significant departure from contemporary practices, as public executions are exceedingly rare in the United States.
