Ex-bankers jailed for rigging rates have convictions quashed
Five former Barclays traders convicted of manipulating interest rates during the financial crisis have successfully had their convictions overturned by the Court of Appeal. Jay Merchant, Jonathan Mathew, Philippe Moryoussef, Alex Pabon, and Colin Bermingham endured a long-running legal battle following their initial prosecutions over the Libor and Euribor scandals. The ruling follows similar successful appeals by other former City traders, leaving only a couple of individuals with active convictions related to the rate-rigging investigations.
