Soccer Player Arrested for Threatening Sister, Released for Match
Former professional soccer player Ali Khatib was detained by authorities following serious allegations that he sent threatening messages to his sister and other relatives. Police pushed for a week-long extension of his detention to further investigate the claims. Despite the gravity of the accusations, the court decided against extending the custody. Instead, the judge ordered Khatib into house arrest while granting a special provision allowing him to leave temporarily to participate in a soccer match.
