Thieves steal 30,000 wine bottles worth €5m in Italy, reports say
Thieves have stolen approximately 30,000 bottles of high-end wine valued at around €5m from a prestigious storage facility in Tuscany, Italy. The heist targeted Marchesi Antinori, one of Italy's most prominent family-owned wineries, while a consignment was being prepared for international shipping. At least seven masked perpetrators reportedly disabled security systems and utilized company forklifts to load two trucks with prized regional reds. Company leadership believes the meticulous nature of the operation points to inside knowledge and connoisseur-level planning.
