Action needed to save water, minister urges
The UK government has urged the public to conserve water following the declaration of severe drought conditions across parts of southern England. Months of exceptionally low rainfall have left major reservoirs severely depleted. Water minister Emma Hardy informed MPs that current conditions are unprecedented in decades, warning that such shortages risk becoming the new normal without proactive measures. While supplies remain uninterrupted, heightened monitoring and restrictions are being implemented.
