Traditionally, Walsh estimated the high-fantasy project would have cost around $80 million to produce through standard Hollywood channels. The movie is based on a 2012 children's book by Bobbi Hess and follows a witch born on Christmas Day who must rescue Santa Claus. By incorporating AI tools, the independent production team bypassed major studio limitations and drastically reduced production costs.
