Seagrass meadows bounce back with new fish communities
Recent research from James Cook University reveals that seagrass meadows in Cairns Harbor's Trinity Inlet have recovered following severe cyclones and flooding that previously devastated the area. While the marine plants have successfully regenerated, scientists observed a notable shift in the local ecosystem, featuring a completely new mix of fish species inhabiting the restored meadows.
