How 'Whalefall' Production Designer Built the Creature's Stomach
Production designer Ramsey Avery faced a unique challenge when designing the sets for the new survival film 'Whalefall'. The movie follows a diver who gets swallowed by a sperm whale and must escape with limited oxygen. To achieve an authentic and claustrophobic look, Avery relied on practical effects, constructing a 30-foot whale head and using unusual materials like mattress foam and silicone bits to mimic the inside of the stomach.
