Peruvian Filmmaker Sami Hawka Explores Polyamory and Resistance
Peruvian filmmaker Sami Hawka is developing the feature film "While Everything Falls" (Afuera Todo Arde), a story set under a fictionalized dictatorship in contemporary Peru. The narrative follows a polyamorous triad fleeing a conservative rural community after their relationship is exposed, leading them to join a broader political rebellion. The project has gained international momentum through selections at the Vancouver International Film Festival's Business Hub Co-Productions Forum and the Queer Palm Lab.
