Stop throwing shade - the woman trying to stop firms leaving the UK
Dame Julia Hoggett, head of the London Stock Exchange, has warned that persistent negative sentiment is driving major British firms to list their shares overseas. Speaking to the BBC, she called on the government to introduce strong structural incentives to encourage domestic investment. Over recent years, numerous prominent companies have abandoned the London market or pursued initial public offerings in the United States and Europe. Hoggett emphasizes that Britain possesses both great companies and ample capital, but needs urgent policy changes to retain them.
