Bombs Preventing Rescue of Kidnapped Youths in Nigeria
Nigerian police have located a camp in Imo state holding 19 abducted national youth service recruits, but a rescue operation is currently stalled. Authorities believe the area is heavily mined with explosive devices, prompting the deployment of bulldozers and armored vehicles. The victims, who are university graduates participating in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), were kidnapped while traveling by bus. Kidnappers have reportedly demanded a ransom of 50 million naira, leaving desperate families appealing to the government for help.
