Netflix’s ‘Victorious’ Spinoff ‘Hollywood Arts’ Review
Thirteen years after Nickelodeon concluded 'Victorious,' Netflix has launched a spinoff titled 'Hollywood Arts.' Created by Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin, the series follows Trina Vega, played once again by Daniella Monet, as a struggling actress who takes a substitute teaching position at her old performing arts alma mater. While hokey and full of garbled dialogue, the show channels the spirit of its predecessor. Critics note that it serves up a nostalgic, over-the-top high school experience that may capture the imaginations of a new generation of younger viewers.
