Nvidia-backed data centre firm scraps IPO amid AI valuation concerns
Firmus, an Nvidia-backed artificial intelligence data centre company, has officially scrapped its plans for a major stock market listing in Australia. The company cited recent market volatility and prevailing conditions for the cancellation, noting that proceeding would not serve the best interests of shareholders. The initial public offering had aimed to value the firm at over $30bn. However, institutional investors, including major pension fund UniSuper, stepped back due to concerns over the steep valuation and potential debt requirements to fund future expansion.
