American Girl Releases First Adult Novel Featuring Samantha Parkington
Mattel's American Girl brand has made history by releasing its first-ever novel for adults, titled 'Samantha: The Next Chapter.' Written by bestselling author Fiona Davis, the book catches up with the beloved Edwardian-era character at age 25 in 1920. Set against the backdrop of the women's suffrage movement in New York, the novel follows Samantha as she works to educate women and encourage them to vote. The author noted that while the book explores mature historical themes, it maintains the wholesome charm of the original franchise, promising it will never be 'spicy.'
