Ex-Deutsche Bank trader Christian Bittar has conviction overturned
The UK Court of Appeal has officially quashed the conviction of Christian Bittar, a former Deutsche Bank trader who was jailed in 2018 for manipulating the Euribor benchmark interest rate. Bittar's successful appeal follows similar rulings involving former Barclays bankers, leaving nearly all convictions from the major financial crisis rate-rigging trials overturned.
