Amex introduces framework to prevent unauthorized AI agent purchases
American Express has unveiled a new framework designed to ensure that AI agents only make purchases explicitly authorized by their users. As autonomous shopping grows, this initiative aims to prevent costly mistakes and payment disputes. Dubbed the Intent Intelligence Framework, the system seeks to establish an industry standard for secure AI transactions by capturing and authenticating customer purchase intent before a bot completes a checkout.
