US Immigration Officials Defend ICE Agents in Car Shooting
US immigration officials have strongly defended the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who shot and wounded a 28-year-old man in New York. The incident, which took place on Thursday, drew immediate scrutiny because the man's five-year-old son was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle at the time. Following the shooting, the survivor, Oscar Belgal, was detained at a facility outside of New York as authorities face growing questions regarding operational safety and protocol.
