Tories pledge £10bn for British anti-missile defence system
The UK Conservative Party has announced a £10bn pledge to build the 'Britannia Shield', a comprehensive air defence system protecting Britain against long-range missiles and drones. Party leader Kemi Badenoch outlined the proposal as a vital measure amid rising security concerns. The initiative will be funded through existing commitments to raise defence spending to 3% of GDP by 2030, supported by welfare reforms and budget reprioritisation. The £10bn cost will be distributed evenly over a 10-year period.
