Yonatan Urich WhatsApp Leak Sparks Million-Shekel Legal Battle
A Jerusalem court has issued an urgent temporary injunction against activist Itay Lashem, prohibiting him from publishing leaked private data from the mobile phone of Yonatan Urich, a close adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Urich has filed a one-million-shekel lawsuit against Lashem, alleging a severe cyber breach and the unauthorized exposure of nearly 19,000 WhatsApp messages. Lashem counters that the leak is actually a fabricated influence operation orchestrated by Urich himself.
