Artist seeking legal advice after Tories use Andy Burnham portrait
Manchester illustrator Stan Chow is taking legal advice after accusing the Conservative Party of using his portrait of Andy Burnham without permission. The artwork was featured on water bottles and sweet packaging handed out during the Tory party conference in Birmingham. Chow, a Labour supporter who originally created the image for Burnham's 2021 mayoral campaign, stated he was never asked for consent. The conference items included labels poking fun at the Labour mayor, labelling him 'Bottler Burnham' and featuring customized sweet mixes.
