OpenAI Introduces Text Watermarking for ChatGPT and Codex
OpenAI has announced the rollout of an invisible, machine-readable text watermarking system for both ChatGPT and Codex. Initially, this feature will be deployed exclusively for users within the European Union. The new capability relies on OpenAI's textGrain watermarking approach, which the company claims matches or exceeds other industry methods. This includes Google DeepMind's SynthID, a technology that also serves as the foundation for watermarking measures announced by Anthropic.
