Boots sold in £7bn deal to Canadian billionaire family
Boots, the prominent UK high street pharmacy and retail chain, has been acquired in a multi-billion pound agreement by the holding company of Canada's billionaire Weston family. Wittington Investments announced the purchase from US private equity firm Sycamore Partners, which had previously owned the retailer for a relatively short period of 18 months.
