Felipe Vellas to Direct 'Bateau Mouche' Sinking Tragedy Movie
Director Felipe Vellas has been tapped by Boutique Filmes and Anonymous Content Brazil to helm the upcoming feature film "Bateau Mouche." The movie is inspired by the real-life historical sinking of a boat in Rio de Janeiro on New Year's Eve 1988. The project will be written by Gustavo Lipsztein, known for his work on Netflix hits such as "The Endless Night." This creative team previously collaborated on the successful documentary project "Elize: Shadows of a Woman." The film will focus on the tragic accident in Guanabara Bay that resulted in the deaths of 55 people. Producers aim to deliver a compelling dramatic recreation of one of Brazil's most shocking historical events.
