Pentagon Stops Using Anthropic AI Tools After Blacklisting Company
The US Department of Defence has officially ceased all use of Anthropic's AI products, months after designating the artificial intelligence firm a supply chain risk. The decision follows a high-stakes standoff over safety guardrails and autonomous weapons. Anthropic had previously refused Pentagon demands to remove restrictions from its Claude model to grant the military unfettered access. In response, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth labelled the firm a national security threat, prompting an ongoing legal battle.
