Rwanda to host F1's first race in Africa since 1993
Rwanda has signed a landmark 10-year agreement with Formula 1 to host the upcoming African Grand Prix starting in the early 2030s. The event will take place on a newly constructed, purpose-built circuit located in Bugesera, just south of the capital city of Kigali. This historic move marks the first time Formula 1 will race on the African continent since 1993. The initiative aims to expand the sport's global reach into a vibrant new market while bringing long-term economic benefits and sustainable growth to the region.
