Amazon responds to data center backlash, says it no longer uses NDAs
AWS CEO Matt Garman has announced that Amazon will stop using nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) with government agencies for data center projects. This move aims to address growing public and regulatory suspicion regarding the transparency and environmental impact of large-scale data infrastructure. Garman also addressed common criticisms regarding water consumption, energy costs, and pollution. Despite these efforts to improve transparency and community relations, skepticism remains high as local communities and activists continue to demand independent oversight of the tech industry's resource usage.
