Fan Bingbing Critiques AI Microdramas at Busan Film Festival
Chinese star Fan Bingbing has raised concerns about the booming popularity of AI-generated microdramas in China. Speaking at the Busan International Film Festival, she argued that young audiences are not receiving adequate artistic nourishment from such content. Contrasting automated entertainment with traditional filmmaking, Fan emphasized the irreplaceable depth of human emotion found in cinema. She pointed to masterworks like Lee Chang-dong's work to highlight the unique nuances of human performance that artificial intelligence fails to replicate.
