‘Red Rising’ Movie in the Works at Paramount With Francis Lawrence

Paramount Pictures is developing a movie adaptation of Pierce Brown's hit sci-fi novel "Red Rising," with "The Hunger Games" director Francis Lawrence attached to direct. Justin Rhodes will write the script for the film, which adapts the first book in the popular six-book series.

The story is set in a future color-coded caste society on Mars, following a Red miner named Darrow who infiltrates the ruling Gold class to spark a rebellion. Lawrence brings significant YA adaptation experience to the project, having directed multiple "Hunger Games" films.
