Ethan Hawke Stars in Supernatural Horror Podcast Midnight Radio

Ethan Hawke is expanding his horror portfolio into the auditory space with the upcoming supernatural scripted podcast Midnight Radio. The series is timed perfectly for a Halloween season release, bringing spooky storytelling directly to listeners' earbuds through the iHeartRadio app and all major podcast platforms.

In the series, Hawke stars as the host of a conspiracy-themed late-night AM radio show. The plot kicks into gear when he receives a mysterious call during a broadcast from a man claiming to be part of a secret U.S. space mission that was lost to history.

As the narrative unfolds in real time, Hawke's character spirals into a complex and dangerous conspiratorial plot. The storyline weaves together government cover-ups, interdimensional breaches, and psychological warfare, challenging both the host and the audience to decipher what is real.

According to the official logline, strange signals hidden deep within the radio static reveal themselves as the broadcast continues. With each new episode building on the previous one, listeners are left facing a central and urgent question: who, or what, is really on the other end of the line, and what do they want?

The project is a reunion for talent well-known in the horror genre, hailing from the creative team behind acclaimed movies like Sinister and The Black Phone, both of which also starred Hawke. The nine-episode scripted series is created and co-written by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill.

Production is managed by Under The Influence Productions, founded by Ethan Hawke and his wife Ryan Hawke, alongside Crooked Highway and Mickey Schiff in collaboration with iHeartPodcasts. The first episode premieres on October 22, with subsequent episodes dropping every Thursday.

The stellar ensemble cast supporting Hawke includes recognizable names such as Noah Centineo, Willa Fitzgerald, Vincent D'Onofrio, Levon Hawke, Austin Pendleton, and Hubert Point-Du Jour, bringing depth and prestige to the audio drama medium.

Reflecting on the production, the creators and cast noted the unique creative freedom found in audio-only storytelling. Hawke expressed appreciation for the intimacy of the medium, marking an exciting new chapter for the seasoned actor as he explores horror through sound alone.
